The provides power to 7 prefectures (Fukuoka, Nagasaki, Ōita, Saga, Miyazaki, Kumamoto, Kagoshima), and recently, to some parts of Hiroshima Prefecture. The shortened name of may sometimes be used. As of 2006, the image character was Chisato Moritaka.

  • May 1, 1951 Founding
  • November, 2005 Began supplying electricity to Hiroshima city, marking the first such incident (where an electric provider provides electricity out of it's area) in Japan's history.
